Latest

Digital signing now works with PDFs created on Windows.

  • FixedSign PDFs created on Windows. Documents from Microsoft Print to PDF, Word and similar apps refused to sign, reporting that their structure wasn't supported. They now sign normally.
  • ImprovedStricter signature compatibility. Signed documents now carry a proper file identifier, so signatures hold up against stricter validators.
1.0.2 (4)
July 18th, 2026

A small fix for copying text out of a PDF.

  • FixedCopy selected text with ⌘C. Selecting text on a page and pressing ⌘C now copies it to the clipboard again.
1.0.1 (3)
July 2nd, 2026

A small maintenance update that polishes how tabs behave.

  • FixedTabs remember your place. Switching to another tab and back now restores your exact zoom level and scroll position, instead of jumping to the top of the document.
  • FixedReliable tab close button. The close button on a tab stays put as you move onto it and closes on the first click — no need to select the tab first.

Initial release

The first release of FizPDF — a fast, native PDF reader and editor for Mac, built from the ground up in SwiftUI on PDFKit. Everything runs on your device; nothing phones home.

  • NewQualified digital signatures. Sign PDFs with your hardware or virtual token (certSIGN Paperless and other CryptoTokenKit providers) — draw the signature box, pick your identity, enter your PIN once. Signatures are strict PAdES B-LT: Adobe Acrobat validates them as a Qualified Electronic Signature under EU Regulation 910/2014 (eIDAS), with an embedded trusted timestamp and long-term validation (LTV) built in. Works offline too, gracefully.
  • NewTabbed windows. Open several PDFs in one window, reorder tabs by drag, and close with ⌘W.
  • NewPage sidebar. Thumbnails with rotate, delete, and copy/paste — drag a page from one document into another, or drop a PDF from Finder to merge.
  • NewBookmarks. Move through a document's outline and save your own bookmarks from the sidebar.
  • NewStamps. Built-in approval marks, plus your own images or signatures — drag any onto any page.
  • NewComments. Drop pins anywhere on a page, reply inline, and resolve threads.
  • NewHighlights. Mark up text in a choice of colors.
  • NewSignature inspector. Validate every digital signature against the EU Trusted Lists with signer identity, certificate details, and trusted-issuer management — multi-signature documents and LTV revisions included.
  • NewSet as default PDF app. One click in Settings (or the welcome banner) makes FizPDF your Mac's default PDF reader.
  • NewPassword protection. Add or remove AES-256 encryption on a document in one click.
  • NewSearch in PDF. Find text across every page with ⌘F and jump between matches.
  • NewZoom, your way. ⌘ + scroll wheel zooms toward your cursor, the toolbar percentage is directly editable, and ⌘1 snaps back to 100%.
  • NewNative & private. A universal binary for Apple Silicon and Intel, sandboxed, with no telemetry.
